1. In the testing of AC and DC motors and power tools, dynamometers are commonly used as testing equipment. The dynamometer mainly tests the torque, speed, and output power of the motor. However, not every dynamometer can meet all motor testing requirements, mainly considering the following three factors:
Torque testing range, if the testing department completes in a short time, the torque of the dynamometer usually cannot exceed the torque value.
In the speed range, the speed of the dynamometer usually cannot exceed the tolerable speed. If used at too high a speed for a long time, it will greatly shorten the lifespan of the dynamometer, not due to mechanical wear.
The power indicated on the dynamometer usually refers to the power that the dynamometer can absorb, because ordinary dynamometers (hysteresis, magnetic powder, eddy current dynamometers rely on heat absorption to achieve energy consumption) are tested AC and DC motors or output power tools. Strictly speaking, it should not exceed this indicator, otherwise, due to the inability to dissipate heat, the dynamometer can easily be burned out.
2. The selection of the dynamometer should not only meet the three main technical indicators of speed, torque, and power, but also consider whether it meets the specific requirements of the test. Generally, motors need to test no-load speed, no-load loss, and rotor stall. Parameters such as torque also need to be given special consideration!
3. When selecting a dynamometer, all test data of the motor should be within 30% to 90% of the performance parameters of the dynamometer. This ensures that the testing accuracy of the dynamometer is guaranteed within this interval, and it is mainly divided into three parts: the mechanical part of the dynamometer, the accuracy range of the speed-torque sensor, and the display accuracy of the speed-torque power meter.
